Methodology
How we compare gift card prices
Where the prices come from
We read the public listings of the gift card marketplaces we track, including CardCash, CardCenter, Card Depot, CardCookie and others. Prices refresh automatically every day, and each brand page shows when it was last checked.
How offers are ranked
- Offers are ranked by discount percentage. A higher discount is a better deal.
- Sold-out listings are removed, so we only rank cards you can actually buy.
- Members-only prices, such as CardCash Elite, are labeled as members-only. Our articles base their main math on prices any shopper can get.
- When a brand is sold under several names (for example a brand's "In-Store Only" card), we group them on one page and link to the highest discount.
Price history
Every day we save the best listed discount for each brand. That history powers the 30-day best, 30-day average and day and week changes on each brand page, plus the "good time to buy" or "worth waiting" signal.
What we don't do
We don't sell gift cards, hold balances or process payments. Marketplace commissions never change the order of offers.
