Restaurant Gift Card Deals: Compare Discounts Before Buying

By the Gift Card Zoo Editorial Team

Warehouse clubs, resale marketplaces and seasonal promotions offer restaurant gift card savings, but discounts and redemption rules vary.

Restaurant gift card savings go beyond holiday sales

Restaurant gift card deals are available year-round through warehouse clubs and resale marketplaces. November and December, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and graduation season also bring restaurant promotions, including bonus cards tied to a qualifying purchase. Check the required spending threshold: qualifying purchases may need to be completed in a single transaction.

Compare warehouse clubs with resale listings

Costco and Sam’s Club have offered restaurant gift card discounts of around 20% for brands including IHOP, Papa John’s and California Pizza Kitchen. Other examples include roughly 26% off Potbelly and 31% off Cold Stone at Sam’s Club. Selection and prices can change, so treat those percentages as comparison benchmarks rather than guaranteed current offers.

Resale marketplace discounts can differ substantially by restaurant. GCX has offered discounts up to 25.7% for IHOP, 22.1% for Domino’s and 14.6% for Panera Bread. Compare available listings with other marketplaces, including CardCash, before choosing. Pay attention to redemption restrictions: some Sonic and Subway listings specify app-only use.

Other places to check

Groupon has offered 20% off Krispy Kreme eGift cards, while Giftory has featured 20% discounts on Olive Garden gift cards. A Target Circle Card can provide a 5% discount on eligible restaurant gift card purchases at Target. These options give buyers additional prices to compare when their preferred restaurant has limited resale inventory.

What this means for gift card buyers

For IHOP, Cold Stone, Panera and other restaurant brands, compare the current discount percentage across sellers before buying. A higher percentage is the better deal when redemption terms are equivalent. Confirm that the card works where you plan to order, and review bonus-card conditions separately rather than treating a promotional bonus as an upfront discount.
